From the Minister

Reverend Tess Baumberger

Welcome!

If you are here, you may be a Unitarian Universalist looking for a new church home.  Ours is a group of dedicated, warm, and nurturing people with a spectacular building and great programs in music and religious education.

Or you might be here because you’ve heard a little bit about Unitarian Universalism, and are wondering if this is the religion for you. Only you can answer that question, but here are some reasons why it is my chosen faith:

·              We do not claim to have the answers, but promise to support one another lovingly in exploring our questions.

·              Community is vital to us, holding us through both joys and sorrows.

·              Ours was the first denomination to ordain women (in 1863), which is typical of our strong history of both justice and charitable work.  We are committed to making the world a better place.

·              Unitarian Universalism believes what really matters is who you are and how you choose to live your life, not what you possess.

·              Our tradition offers hope in humanity and in the future by inspiring us to use our powers to improve the world.

·              This is a faith that transforms lives. It calls us to meet both the good and the bad inside us with compassion, then to develop the good. It inspires us to be creative, whole, kind, loving and open-minded.

In short, Unitarian Universalism “saves” by nurturing spirituality, providing connections, and helping us find ways to transform our world.

We do all of this here at Unity Church.  Please join us Sundays at 10:30, and feel free to contact me – tbaumberger[at]uuma.org – with any questions.

Whoever you are, wherever you are in your journey, we bid you welcome.
